St Catherine at the local market selling products from the sewing project

Learning a trade is one way out of poverty which often also stabilize familiy incomes. Anne Tinka, the founder of St Catherine Vocational project, and CAVODE has therefore started a sewing workshop. They work with treadle sewing machines and coal heated iron presses, and makes everything from bags and wallets to tailored dresses.

Everything which is produced is sold through Annes shop in Kabale or at local markets around Muhanga. All proceedings are returned to CAVODE.

St Catherine Sweden has financed sewing machines and textiles to this project, and also financed the production of school bags for the children at our schools in CAVODE.
